All students who have not yet completed their studies, i.e. who are missing an obligatory subject, a physical education signature or a work a fire safety training signature, etc. must register. The student must register for the next semester or declare a passive semester through the study system by the end of the 2nd week of the academic term at the latest, and register for the courses in the semester in the study system. Administration -> Enrollment/Registration menu. If you have any debt in the NEPTUN system then you are not able to enroll the next semester and you are not able to register your subjects and courses.
A student's status is passive even if the student does not register for the semester and this does not result in the termination of his/her status. The number of passive semesters may not exceed half of the training period (rounded up the odd semester of training).
Certificates of student status and transcripts (e.g. for applications) are issued by the Coordinating Center for International Education (CCIE), info@edu.unideb.hu
Registration for a semester and the enrollment of subjects may be freely modified until the end of the second week of the academic term. During the registration period of each semester, the student must check the accuracy of his/her personal data in the study system, in particular his/her permanent address and telephone number.
After the registration period, the student may take a passive semester instead of the active semester if he/she applies for it within one month after the start of the training period, but no later than March 14 for the spring semester, by submitting an electronic application available in Neptun.
If the student does not request a break in his/her studies (passive semester) or termination by this date, the student's status is considered active even if he/she does not attend any classes and does not fulfil the study requirements of any curriculum.
6th subject registration rule:
3§ (8): If a student pursuing his/her studies in a fee-paying program does not get the credits for a subject or fails to fulfill the requirements specified in the curriculum of the subject, after taking the subject six times, the Dean, in their powers delegated by the Rector shall terminate the student status of the student. The numbers of subject registrations of a student who has changed the form of financing of his/her studies are added together. In the case of fulfilment of the physical education requirements, the rules for taking up subjects set out in this section do not apply.

You can find the emails of the professors from the official phonebook of the UD: link
It is the student's duty and responsibility to check the registered subjects and courses in the Neptun system (Subjects / ‘Registered subjects’ and ‘Taken courses’ menu). We highly recommend this before the end of the subject and course registration period to avoid problems later due to mistakes.
A bulletin describing the relevant professional requirements can be found at the following link:
Bachelor’s degree: link
Master's degree: link
Between February 23 and February 27, 2026, the student is still able to modify the subject registration - in exceptionally justified case - with the related request form in the NEPTUN system.
REQUEST FORMS:
If you not completed the prerequisite’s one of the subject and you would like to parallel register it for the current semester (just theoretical subjects can be requested) the following request form can be filled out:
Note! If you requested the prerequisite subject with the request form do not forget to register the built on subject for the semester as well.
- TTK_Subject/course registration request form 2025/26/2 (available in the first 2 weeks of the semester)
If you forgot to register one of your subject (obligatory or optional) for the semester the following request form can be filled out:

2.Your request will appear on the side of the instructor, education responsible and the vice dean after the submission in NEPTUN.
3.After their opinions and judgments (the status of request has been changed) the requested and supported subject de-registration/registration in the NEPTUN system will submitted automatically and you will get a system message about the successful procedure.
- The fee for the late course registration: 1500 HUF / course (the faculty administrator will register the fee in the Neptun)
- The fee for the late course deregistration: 3000 HUF / course (the faculty administrator will register the fee in the Neptun)
- TTK_General request form 2025/26/2 (available during the entire semester)
The General request can be found in the Neptun under menu Administration/Requests
After February 27, 2026 the subject/course registration/deregistration is not allowed!
EXAMINATION COURSE
The exam course can only be advertised/opened by an instructor.
If this subject is a prerequisite for an other subjects, then this subjects - for which this subject is the prerequisite - cannot be registered in this semester.
You can register the exam course if you registered already it any previous semester in the NEPTUN system, and you have at least one unsuccessful /Fail (1)/ exam previously.
If you register the exam course then it's counted in the number of subject registration.
The administration of the exam course is as follows:
- Student can ask the exam course directly from the instructor, and the instructor can decide whether to advertise on the subject.
- If the exam course is available anyway, the students will be able to enroll without any request form, because Neptun will only accept the subject for the eligible students.
This means that if you do not have a Fail (1) grade from any previous semesters, you cannot apply for registration to the examination course even by submitting a subject registration request form, because you are not entitled to do so under the study and examination regulations.
CREDIT TRANSFER
„in case of a minimum 75% equivalency between the programs of study of courses offered by the sending and the receiving institutions, as many credits shall be recognized as the course is allocated in the curriculum of the receiving institution” (Rules and Regulations, University of Debrecen, 15.§, 2022)
A student may submit a request for course acceptance just once in the first semester registered as active, listing all the courses student wishes to be accepted. The student may not request transfer credit in subsequent semesters.
The deadline for the submission is February 20, 2026 (Friday) 12 o'clock
Request form: link
After the deadline the request form is not allowed!
FOR THE GRADUATING STUDENT
Please check your requirements of the graduation. E.g.: obligatory and optional subjects of your educational program.
Completion check: all students are subject to the requirements of the bulletin (curriculum) in force at the time of their entry into the course and must complete the credits defined in the curriculum by subject group (compulsory, elective, optional). For the above reasons, we kindly ask you to check your completed subjects in Neptun on the web.
You need to do this in two places:
- Studies/Gradebook, by selecting the semester (suggested method of verification!)
- Studies/Curriculum (selecting the curriculum – List button).
If there is a credit deficit during the check, you still have the possibility to take the required subject/s during the course registration period!
Physical Education:
Requirement:
- on bachelor program: two times to complete
- on master program. once to complete
The registration starts on February 3, 2026 (Tuesday) at 13:00 o'clock. The subject code is SI-003.
- Note: If you are a graduating student and you choose the Unifit to complete the PE you must fulfill the monthly pass until 24th of April 2026 with the 12 occassions.
Work and Fire Safety Training:
There is an e-learning course and obligatory for all students in the University of Debrecen. You can register it as a subject and you can find it in the "All other subjects in the institution" subject type. Subject code: MUNKAVEDELEM (after choose TTK course)
The registration will open from 5th of February. You need to complete it only once.
Graduating students will be informed of further steps to be taken to complete their studies via an e-mail message sent via Neptun during the semester.
